In a recent media interview Mide Martins, daughter of the Funmi Martins, admitted that she’d had a crush on actor Afeez Owo since his days of playing artiste manager to her mom. Asked why she married him, she said: “It is a normal thing for one to develop affection and feelings for someone who is always there for you, especially the person that was really of help when no one else was there for you. My husband was the only person that was there for me during this period and that’s one of the reasons I fell for him.” She also admits toning her skin. She observed that in the industry nowadays, light skinned actresses get roles faster than the dark skinned ones. “Besides, toning your skin a little bit is not a crime and it’s not an offence. I only did what I believe made me more beautiful and you can all admit that I truly look more beautiful. I just don’t like the fact that some ladies over do it.” What can we say? If she’s not that comfortable in her own skin, it is her call to change things her way. She has now joined the league of actresses on the tone! Hope they are aware of the risks attached to skin bleaching?

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and her second daughter, Meraiah dazzle at the just concluded mother and daughter campaign awareness by Knorr organised by Nestle Nigeria, where they were made Knorr ambassadors. Like the saying goes; like mother, like daughter! With the new Nestle deal, Omosexy has finally found a way to set her daughter on the path to celebrity living.

It is indeed a very good year for Dr Sid (Sidney Esiri) son of late Nollywood actor Justus Esiri. He signed under the Mavins records as his wife Simi gave birth to a baby girl in an undisclosed hospital in the United Kingdom. In the course of his happiness, he remixed a recently released song out of his album “Chop Ogbono” with Olamide YBNL. But the remix seems not to please his listeners as the comments on Instagram bled conflict. Dr Sid should have known better than to reply an angry comment. This caused a lot of brouhaha as fans slammed him hard and asked: “Is it by force to chop ogbono?” One even said: “Stop wasting Don Jazzy’s beat.” Anyway, I believe he’s learnt his lesson from the flak he got from his angry Instagram fans.
