Wife explains her ‘okada’ campaign for hubby, PDP’s Folarin in Oyo State

Chief (Mrs) Angela Simbiat Folarin (Olori Laguna Olubadan), wife of PDP governorship aspirant in Oyo State, ex-Senator Teslim Folarin, beat other potential first ladies in the sleepy state, with her campaign theatrics on a recent bike ride, standing like a stunt girl.

First she was in a convoy, then she opted to trek to feel the people’s pulse. And then she jumped on a motorcycle, a move that got her security detail running and panting.

It is all in a day’s job, she seemed to say as she campaigned heartily for her husband ahead of the Saturday April 11, 2015 governorship elections. Both husband and wife are indigenes of Ibadan, a city with the largest number of registered voters in the state.

A PDP fan, Sola Kuti had shared Angela Folarin’s spectacular photo-on-okada on Facebook a some folks had made a snide remark about her Rambo-style bike ride, especially a female consumer activist, Sola Salako.

Promptly, Folarin replied Salako’s gutsy joke herself!

Her humorous response to Salako: “Haba! Free me na, I am just a wife trying to help my husband like the Bible says. You don’t know me, so don’t judge me. I saw a passing okada and I jumped on it like any normal person. It is just a fun picture. Don’t take life so seriously. I am a wife and mother, and there is life after Saturday (April 11, 2015 elections). Lol.”

Other comments on Folarin’s dramatic image….

Ibrahim Abu: Riding without helmet! Hmm!

Yinka Oluwole: Her name is Angela Simbiatu; that combo should tell you something.

Sola Salako: Lawlessness… another Patience Jonathan in the making?

Toyin Cynthia Musa: I love this woman abeg!

Sola Kuti: Angela, abeg ignore all the APC-induced comments; they have lost their sense of humour.

Samuel Bode Odeyemi: This is certainly one of the best political campaigns this year. While other politicians are using luxury buses and SUVs, a London-trained barrister and wife of a former senator arrives in style on okada! Hats off to the incoming first lady of Oyo State! You go, girl!
